About Alex Labrie

I am a senior public relations major at Hofstra University who is graduating in May. I have had three previous internships in the entertainment publicity industry. In addition to public relations I also have a double minor in Writing Studies and Marketing. I am looking forward to combining these three areas to hopefully obtain a full-time job in the entertainment publicity landscape in May

Outside of the classroom I am very social and outgoing and enjoy spending as much time with my friends as I can in between my busy schedule. We enjoy all the typical college student activities–such as movie nights, happy hour, and binge-watching The Real Housewives whenever possible. I also have a part-time job at Starbucks as a barista, which has only fueled the coffee addiction that I developed in high school. My go-to coffee order is a venti iced black coffee with extra ice because I think coffee tastes best in its purest form. And ice cold.

I am originally from Chicopee, MA which is about as far away from Boston as you can get while still being in Massachusetts. When I tell people I am from Massachusetts, they typically assume that I am from the Boston area and are surprised I don’t have a Boston accent. However, in Western Mass we speak like proper adults. As much as I loved my first 18 years of life in Massachusetts, I fled to New York as soon as I possibly could and have no desire to return anytime soon.

I look forward to using this blog as a place to express my thoughts on the complicated topics that we discuss in this class.
